AppStatus Platform Overview

What is AppStatus?

AppStatus is a unified monitoring and incident response platform that brings together uptime monitoring, intelligent alerting, incident management, public status pages, heartbeat monitoring, and host-level telemetry collection — all in one product.

Instead of stitching together separate tools for monitoring, paging, status communication, and infrastructure visibility, AppStatus provides a single pane of glass where teams can detect problems, route notifications, manage incidents, communicate with stakeholders, and analyze root causes — with AI assistance.

How It Works

AppStatus operates on a continuous detect → notify → respond → communicate loop. Each component feeds into the next, creating an automated pipeline from problem detection to stakeholder communication.

1

Detect

Monitors probe your endpoints from 70 regions. Heartbeats watch for missed cron job executions. The Agent streams host metrics, logs, and security events. When something breaks, AppStatus knows immediately.

2

Notify

Alert rules evaluate the failure against conditions (severity, type, monitor scope) and dispatch notifications through 12 channel types. Escalation policies ensure critical alerts reach the right responder within defined timeframes.

3

Respond

Incidents are created automatically with deduplication (PostgreSQL advisory locks). Teams acknowledge, investigate, and resolve incidents. AI analysis (Gemini) provides root cause hints and solving steps within seconds.

4

Communicate

Status pages update in real time, showing stakeholders exactly which services are affected. Subscribers receive email notifications. Maintenance windows keep users informed about planned outages.
